The 10th World Sponge Conference successfully concluded in Galway (Ireland), welcoming about 300 delegates from all over the world. Taking advantage of this timeliness, SponGES presented about 30 contributions and played an active role in the organisation or support of special events, such as those dedicated to the Transatlantic Cooperation on Deep-sea Research within the Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance (AORA) and the Hexactinellida Identification Workshop (held by Henry Reiswig). Moreover, many SponGES researchers acted as chairs and/or plenary speakers. See you in Bali, for the next World Sponge Conference!
